Naples, Italy

As the historic capital of the southern Italy Campania region with over 2,500 years of history, Naples is renowned as the birthplace of pizza, the romantic guitar and the mandolin. Founded by the ancient Greeks, the region was eventually absorbed into the Roman Republic; after which it unified with Sicily and finally joined with Italy. Today, guests can sample some of the world's finest cuisine between bouts of spectacular sightseeing, bake their own pizza in a number of authentic pizzerias, lounge on golden beaches or visit an island spa with natural thermal pools.

Day trips beyond the borders of Naples can also take you to explore:

  • Capri
Sample local products like perfumes, crafts, handmade leather shoes and limoncello-a famed liquor. Indulge in real Italian gelato or spend the afternoon shopping before touring the gardens of Villa San Michele.
